TechSelectAI
Specialized recommendation methodology

Explainable recommendations, not hidden rankings.

TechSelectAI builds domain-specific capability models for specialized software categories, then converts confirmed buyer requirements into a deterministic Fit Score. AI helps structure requirements and explain results, while the final curated ranking follows the published scoring model rather than popularity or listing volume.

Requirement priority

Confirmed buyer requirements are weighted by importance so a nice-to-have does not count the same as a must-have.

Unknown ≠ Not Supported. Missing evidence receives a conservative partial value rather than being treated as a confirmed failure.

Fit and evidence stay separate

Fit Score answers: how well does this product match this buyer's confirmed requirements?

Evidence Confidence answers: how strong and current is the evidence behind the claims used in the evaluation?

A high-fit product can still require further verification when evidence confidence is lower.

Why specialization matters

Generic software directories can compare common features across broad categories. TechSelectAI is designed for software where the buying questions themselves require domain knowledge—such as Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) for ports and container terminals, industrial operations, manufacturing, maritime, OT, laboratory, energy and safety systems.

For TOS specifically, TechSelectAI maintains a specialist operational taxonomy spanning vessel, yard, gate, rail, equipment, automation, cargo, integration, billing, resilience and security requirements. See the Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) research framework.

Each curated category therefore has its own capability model and evidence boundaries instead of forcing specialized products into a generic checklist.

AI's role

AI may help interpret the business problem, structure requirements, ask follow-up questions, and explain the recommendation. In curated mode, AI does not secretly override the deterministic final ranking.

When TechSelectAI advises on a topic outside the curated specialized catalog, it operates in general technology-consultant mode and does not fabricate TechSelectAI Fit Scores or curated evidence claims.

Sponsorship does not rank products

Commercial relationships, featured placements, or ownership do not increase Fit Score, Evidence Confidence, or ranking position. Sponsored placements are labeled and kept outside the recommendation ranking.

TechSelectAI is operated by Barmageyat. Barmageyat-owned products, including CardIQ Identity and ManpowerIQ, are evaluated using the same methodology and evidence requirements as other products. Related-party ownership is disclosed separately and never increases Fit Score, Evidence Confidence or ranking position.
