Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information TechSelectAI collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
TechSelectAI (techselectai.com) is a software research and technology advisory service operated by Barmageyat, Egypt. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean TechSelectAI and Barmageyat. For any privacy question or request, email support@techselectai.com.
2. Information you give us
Account
If you register, we store your name, email address and a one-way hash of your password (we never store the password itself). If you choose to sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name and email address from that provider.
Consultations and buyer tools
When you describe your requirements, build a shortlist, business case, RFP, decision matrix or selection project, we store what you enter so we can produce and save your results.
Reviews, submissions and vendor claims
If you write a review, suggest software, or submit a vendor or partner relationship claim, we store the content you submit and the contact email you provide so we can verify and moderate it.
Product alerts
If you follow a product, we store your email address to send updates. Every alert email contains an unsubscribe link.
3. Information collected automatically
We run our own first-party analytics to understand which pages are useful. It records pages viewed, the referring website, campaign (UTM) tags, device type and, when our hosting provider supplies it, a country code. It uses a random visitor identifier and a per-tab session identifier, which are hashed before they are stored. Our analytics does not store your IP address. IP addresses are used briefly to protect the site from abuse (rate limiting) and are stored only in hashed form for that purpose.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential cookies are needed for sign-in and security.
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
Some pages show advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we use Google's consent message to ask for it.
Advertising never affects how products are researched, scored or ranked on TechSelectAI.
6. AI processing
To turn your free-text requirements into structured criteria, the text you enter in a consultation is sent to OpenAI, our AI processing provider. AI helps interpret requirements; product rankings are calculated by our own deterministic scoring, not by the AI model. Please do not include confidential or personal information about others in consultation text.
7. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the service, operate your account, produce recommendations and saved work, send account emails (verification, password reset) and alerts you asked for, moderate submissions, prevent abuse, and understand which content is useful so we can improve it.
8. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give software vendors your contact details or consultation content. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, OpenAI (consultation text, see section 6), Google (advertising and optional sign-in) and Microsoft (optional sign-in). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.
9. Retention
We keep account information while your account is active. Consultation and saved work is kept so you can return to it, until you ask us to delete it or delete your account. Analytics records are kept in aggregated or pseudonymous form.
10. Your choices and rights
You can update your details in your account settings. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information by emailing support@techselectai.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to a data protection authority.
11. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers.
12. Children
TechSelectAI is a business research service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
13. Changes
We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes, and we will announce significant changes on the site.
